Cleopas Project
Spirit-Empowered Apprenticeship
SCC longs to a be a community that doesn't just say we're Christians, but is actually living out the ways of Jesus. How do we do that?
1. Choose your Cleopas (Luke 24:18): Find someone who is willing to walk with you in a faith-based relationship. Remember - Jesus is the true discipler, we are simply fellow travelers seeking to do what Jesus did.
2a. Choose how you will read scripture together. If you already have a rhythm of reading the Bible that works for you, simply invite this person to join you in that. Other resources are listed below.
2b. Choose how you will pray together. Prayer is a key component to any discipleship or apprentice relationship. If you have a rhythm of prayer that is fruitful for you, simply invite your Emmaus Road companion to join you in that. Other models of prayer are listed below.
3. Connect to pray and read together. Make it a habit to connect at least 3-4 times a week by text or phone and once a week in-person to discuss what you are reading and praying about.
Let us know about your Cleopas Project and we will send you encouragement and information.
