FAQS

General Information

  • Our service begins at 10:00 am in the Worship Center and generally lasts about 90 minutes. The service includes worship (both hymns and contemporary songs), the celebration of communion, and a Biblically-based message. Classes are available for kids from nursery through 8th grade, though children are always welcome to attend the service with their parents.

  • Springs Community Church is located at 7290 Lexington Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 - the southwest corner of Woodmen and Lexington. On arriving, you’ll find convenient parking—including handicapped and guest spaces—near the main entrance to the Worship Center.

Children & Youth Ministry

  • In our Children’s Ministry (SC Kids), infants through 4th grade are welcomed into age-appropriate environments where they can learn about God’s love and how they can partner with Him in “Kingdom work.” Kids’ classes include teaching, worship, prayer, and fun activities. On the last Sunday of every month, preschoolers and older children stay in the main service for Family Worship. Secure check-in-and-out procedures are in place for all children.

  • Our Youth Ministry (SC Youth) provides a space for teens to grow in faith and community. On Sundays:

    • 5th-8th graders begin in the main worship service and then move to “The Attic” for Bible study and discussion.

    • 9th-12th graders attend the main worship service. Many also volunteer in worship arts or children’s ministry.

    Weekly youth gatherings include:

    • Middle School: Wednesdays, 6:30–8:30 pm

    • High School: Thursdays, 6:30–9:00 pm

Community & Relationships

  • Kingdom Life Communities (KLCs) are smaller groups where people connect, grow, and serve together in everyday life. They meet every other week and focus on spiritual transformation, sacred friendships, and living out the Kingdom of God in practical ways. There’s no required membership—just a shared commitment to following Christ together. Many groups welcome children or offer childcare. To join, contact the church office to be connected with a nearby group.

Missions & Outreach

  • Apprenticing, Neighboring, Abiding

  • Locally, we partner with organizations such as Marian House Kitchen and COS I Love You, serving our community through regular outreach. Globally, we support missions such as Wycliffe Bible Translators and other ministries reaching unreached people groups around the world.

  • You can volunteer locally, join a mission trip, or support global partners through prayer and giving. Contact the church office to learn about upcoming opportunities.

Visit & Get Connected

  • Welcome! We recommend arriving a little early for the 10 am service to find parking and get settled. Stop by the Welcome Center in the atrium to check in children for SC Kids or ask any questions. Our cafe serves Building Three Coffee and has donuts available for a donation. Then find a seat in the worship center and prepare your heart for service.

  • Yes! There are many ways to serve, including children’s and youth ministry, worship arts (music, media, tech), hospitality, and missions. Visit the Welcome Center or contact a ministry leader to get started.

  • SCC offers a Newcomers’ Class every quarter to meet the leadership and learn more about our mission. Our Partners Class is available for those who want to make SCC their church home. Ask at the Welcome Center for the next available session.

  • Pastors Steve Brooks and Ron Gray started Springs Community Church together in 1985. Following the tragic deaths of their wives in the same car accident six years prior, they had received grief counseling together and formed a deep friendship. After many conversations, the extroverted dynamo and the practical administrator began to see themselves not as opposites, but as two halves of the same team. Mercifully, the accident that wrecked their lives brought them together to achieve their goal of starting a new church.

In 2007, Pastor Steve was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Realizing that he could not physically continue to lead SCC into the future, a search team was formed to seek his replacement. After interviews with numerous qualified candidates, Pastor Eric Carpenter became the lead pastor in April 2008.
